Pilosoft Digital has launched Bajwa, a new online marketplace designed to help individuals, vendors and businesses across Ghana advertise products and services, reach potential buyers and manage their listings more effectively.
Officially launched on 29 August 2026, Bajwa provides a simple way for people to discover items available near them, contact sellers directly and explore listings across different categories and locations in Ghana.
Posting listings on Bajwa is currently completely free, making the platform accessible to both established vendors and individuals who only have an occasional item to sell.
A marketplace built for buying and selling in Ghana
Bajwa was developed in response to a straightforward need: making it easier for buyers and sellers in Ghana to find and connect with each other online.
A business may need a digital channel through which it can reach more customers. An individual may want to sell a phone, vehicle, household appliance or piece of furniture that is no longer needed. A buyer may simply be looking for a particular product or service within their region.
Bajwa brings these different needs together in one marketplace.
Sellers can create listings with photographs, prices, descriptions, locations and relevant product information. Buyers can browse or search the marketplace, review the information provided and contact the seller directly when interested.
The platform is available to users across Ghana and supports location-based discovery through regions and districts. This helps buyers find relevant listings within practical locations while giving sellers an opportunity to reach people beyond their immediate personal networks.
Free listings for individuals, vendors and businesses
Anyone who meets Bajwa’s account and verification requirements can advertise an eligible product or service on the platform.
Listings are currently completely free. This applies to established vendors, small businesses, service providers and individuals making occasional sales.
This approach allows different types of sellers to participate without having to pay before discovering whether there is demand for an item.
A seller can create an account, complete the required email and phone verification, select an appropriate category and submit a listing for review. Once approved, the listing becomes available to buyers searching or browsing the marketplace.
Bajwa does not limit the platform to professional vendors. Someone selling a single used item can use the same straightforward listing process as a business uploading part of its inventory.
All Bajwa marketplace categories are now live
All product and service categories on Bajwa are currently available.
Buyers can explore listings covering areas such as:
- Fashion
- Beauty and personal care
- Electronics
- Professional and local services
- Home, furniture and appliances
- Phones & Tablets
- Commercial equipment and tools
- Agriculture & Farming
- Vehicles
- Property
- Babies and kids
- Food and groceries
- Animals and pets
- Hobbies and sports
- Jobs
The category structure helps sellers provide information relevant to the item being advertised. It also makes it easier for buyers to narrow their searches and compare suitable listings.
Direct communication between buyers and sellers
Bajwa allows interested buyers to contact sellers directly.
Depending on the information made available by a seller, a verified user can view the seller’s telephone number or begin a conversation through WhatsApp. The WhatsApp option generates a message that identifies the relevant Bajwa listing, helping the seller understand which item the buyer is asking about.
This direct-contact model reduces unnecessary steps between discovering an item and speaking with the person selling it.
Bajwa currently operates as a classifieds marketplace. It facilitates product discovery and communication but does not receive payment on behalf of sellers, guarantee transactions or take possession of the products advertised.
Buyers and sellers remain responsible for inspecting items, confirming important details and agreeing on an appropriate transaction method.
Sellers can see how their listings perform
In addition to publishing listings, sellers can access performance information through their Bajwa dashboards.
The available listing analytics include:
- The number of times a listing has been viewed
- The number of users who viewed the seller’s phone number
- The number of WhatsApp conversations initiated from the listing
These insights help sellers understand whether people are discovering and engaging with their listings.
For example, a listing receiving views but few enquiries may need clearer photographs, a more informative description or a price adjustment. A seller can use the available information to improve future listings and make better decisions about how products are presented.
The figures represent user engagement and do not guarantee that a listing will result in a completed sale.
Moderation and verification support marketplace trust
Every listing submitted to Bajwa goes through moderation before it becomes publicly available.
The moderation process checks whether a listing follows the platform’s rules, has been placed in an appropriate category and contains enough relevant information for potential buyers. A listing may be held for correction when changes are required.
Users must verify both their email address and telephone number before they can post listings. Seller telephone numbers are also restricted to users who have completed phone verification.
These measures are designed to support accountability and improve the quality of information available on the marketplace. However, buyers should still exercise care when communicating with sellers or arranging transactions.
Safety remains a shared responsibility
Bajwa encourages buyers to inspect products before making payment and to meet sellers in safe, public locations whenever an in-person exchange is necessary.
Buyers should avoid sending advance payments for items they have not inspected, particularly when dealing with an unfamiliar seller. Product condition, ownership documents, serial numbers and other important details should be confirmed before a transaction is completed.
Sellers should also protect their personal information, keep communication focused on the advertised item and remain cautious of suspicious payment messages or requests for verification codes.
The platform provides safety guidance to help users recognise common marketplace risks, but every user must make careful decisions during a transaction.
Developed and owned by Pilosoft Digital
Bajwa is owned and developed by Pilosoft Digital, a Ghanaian digital solutions company specialising in software development and other technology services.
Pilosoft Digital will continue to maintain and develop the platform as Bajwa grows. Future improvements will be informed by how buyers and sellers use the marketplace, the challenges they encounter and the tools they need to trade more effectively.
The launch represents Pilosoft Digital’s effort to build a practical digital product around the needs of Ghanaian buyers, individual sellers and growing businesses.
